Quality standard. Nothing is cut before you approve the pre-production sample in bulk fabric and trims. Production is checked in-line, and every consignment gets a pre-shipment inspection by our own quality specialist, covering measurements, workmanship, packing and documents. Inspected to AQL 2.5. A lot that fails does not ship: our specialist has it fixed and re-inspected, and any cost is settled with the factory, not passed to you. What is checked

Questions about the chef coat

Why work with Sourcing EG for chef coat manufacturing?

We work on your side, not the factory's. We deal with these factories every day, so we negotiate lower prices for you than a one-off buyer would get. Our own quality specialist is your eyes in the factory: every lot of your chef coats is inspected to AQL 2.5, and a lot that fails is fixed at the factory's cost before it ships. Duty is 0% into both markets: the US because we only use QIZ factories, the EU with a EUR.1 certificate. You can start at 50 pieces per style, per colour.

Cotton or poly-cotton for a chef coat?

Cotton twill is the usual choice near heat, because it breathes and does not melt. Poly-cotton twill keeps its white or colour longer through hot washes.

Can the chef coat have the restaurant's logo?

Yes, embroidered on the chest or sleeve, with the chef's name as an option, plus your buttons and a woven label inside.

What is the minimum order for the chef coat?

50 pieces per colour on stock fabric, in any stock colour (black, white, red, blue, olive green and burgundy), spread across your sizes. Custom-dyed or printed fabric carries the mill's own minimum, which is higher — we confirm it against your fabric before quoting.

What sizes and colours does the chef coat come in?

Sizes S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL and 6XL. Stock colours at the 50-piece minimum: black, white, red, blue, olive green and burgundy. Any other colour is custom-dyed and carries the mill's higher minimum.

How much does the chef coat cost?

It is costed to your specification. Send your tech pack with the quantity per colour and we reply with a price within two working days.

What fabric is the chef coat made in?

Cotton twill or polyester / cotton twill. You specify the fabric and the mill sources it; it is made in Egypt, which keeps the EU duty preference.

How long does it take to make the chef coat?

Proto sample 5–7 days, fit sample 3–5 days, pre-production sample 5–7 days. Once you approve the pre-production sample, fabric and production take 15–30 days to ex-factory, for orders up to 10,000 pieces. Samples cost $20 per sample, which covers shipping it to you.

Does the chef coat enter the US and EU duty-free?

Yes. Into the US at 0%: clothing from QIZ-certified factories enters duty-free, and we only use QIZ factories. Into the EU at 0% with a EUR.1 certificate, because the fabric is made in Egypt and the garment is sewn there.
