Why brands use Sourcing EG for t-shirts
- We work on your side, not the factory's. We deal with these factories every day, so we negotiate lower prices for you than a one-off buyer would get.
- Our own specialist inspects every lot to AQL 2.5. A lot that fails does not ship: our specialist has it fixed and re-inspected, and any cost is settled with the factory, not passed to you.
- We only source from factories that meet QIZ requirements, so your tees enter the US duty-free, and the EU at 0% with a EUR.1.
- Stock jersey is where our 50-piece minimum genuinely holds, so it is the lowest-risk way to test production with us before committing a whole season.
Questions about t-shirt manufacturing
What is the minimum for private label t-shirts?
50 pieces per style, per colour, on stock jersey, spread across your sizes, so one tee in three colours is 150 pieces. Custom-dyed or printed fabric carries the mill's own, higher minimum, and we confirm it before quoting.
How much does it cost to make a t-shirt?
$6.90 at 50–499, $5.90 at 500–1,999 and $4.50 at 2,000+ pieces, FOB per piece for a standard make in stock jersey. The same breaks apply to the regular, oversized, boxy and long sleeve tee, per style, per colour. Heavier jersey, print or embroidery and garment dye change the price; your tech pack sets the exact figure.
Can you make oversized or boxy heavyweight tees?
Yes. The oversized tee (dropped shoulder, wide body, boxy hem) and the boxy tee (short and wide body, set shoulder) can both be made in heavyweight jersey at 240–300 gsm, which holds the oversized shape. Tell us the weight you want with your tech pack or reference garment, from 50 pieces per style, per colour.
What weights can you do for t-shirts?
160–300 gsm in all: 160–180 gsm regular, 200–220 gsm midweight, 240–300 gsm heavyweight. Tell us the weight with your tech pack or reference garment; heavier jersey changes the price, and your tech pack sets the exact figure.
Do you use Egyptian cotton for the t-shirts?
Not automatically. The fabric for every order is made in Egypt, but Egyptian cotton means cotton grown in Egypt, and the Egyptian Cotton™ logo is licensed by the Cotton Egypt Association to the mill, not to us. If you need it, say so when you ask for a quote: we confirm the yarn's origin and give you the mill's licence number where it holds one.
Can I put my own labels on the tees?
Yes: embroidered logo, woven label, printed care label, hangtags & swing tickets, custom hardware, branded packaging. The woven label also carries the composition text the EU requires.
How long does a t-shirt order take?
First sample in 5–7 days: the proto, then a fit sample in 3–5 days and a pre-production sample in 5–7 days. Then 15–30 days from PP-sample approval to ex-factory, for orders up to 10,000 pieces. From an approved tech pack, the published stages add up to 28–49 days to ex-factory: proto, fit and pre-production samples, then fabric and production.
Do tees made in Egypt enter the US and EU duty-free?
Yes. Into the US at 0%, because we only use QIZ factories. Into the EU at 0% with a EUR.1 certificate, because the fabric is made in Egypt.
